Dead Sands / Re: Haiku's and Steel
« on: January 02, 2016, 01:09:47 am »
There was a blur of semi transparent blue around the cyborg's form, his shield sparking to life and soaking the initial shotgun blast. Nearly cracking with the added impact of Twist's rifle shot.
However, at the range their assailant was standing, perhaps a shotgun was not the best selection of weapon, even if Moxxi's crafted and literal firearm accurized with each passing shot, the stray ballistics hitting the sand around the target to create a blistering storm of sand a midst the gunfire, briefly obscuring the target before the spread began to tighten with a second, third, and forth shot.

However, there was no sound of lead against shields or steel with any following lead slung in it's direction. Within the cloud of sand there was a muted *Thwoomp* to accompany the bluish spot of light that sprung to life and died within nearly the same instant, a similar flash of blue glinting in the sides of their vision with the appearance of their foe next to their vehicles.
"Gotcha, bandits."
Bearing his weapon at them from the undefended right flank, having simply sprung into existance behind their now useless cover, the twin barrels of his olive and yellow pistol rotated into action as he opened fire.

"Things are already messy." The synthesis heavy voice sounded familiar to Gauge and perhaps Zer0... perhaps too familier, the plated man continuing to press forward in spite of their threats. "That crate is coming with me." Which was stated as more of a simple matter of fact then a threat but no less dangerous, saying nothing to twists comments about his tech but twist would feel the gaze of the operative strongly on him the moment the sickly green lights of his corrosive weapon came online, almost daring him to use it.
Closer up, it was hard to see where the cybernetics ended and where his armor plating began. To an extent, the existence of any flesh on his person was impossible to confirm or deny.

Still a fair distance off the vehicle came to a gliding stop. The vehicle on closer inspection appeared to have been a modified surveyor drone equipped to carry a single passenger. Anything else to be learned about this drone was cut short as it's rider stepped of; The drone flying away now that it was no longer needed.
The rider himself seemed a far more interesting spectacle, equally clad in the flat yellow of Hyperion as his ride he began to stride towards the crash site. Plates and wiring lining the figures body outside and somewhat alarmingly entering inside the plating of his armor and body.
Whoever this was, digi-structing a pistol in his hands and approaching, was likely not friendly.

Name: NA [Designation: Willhel-M 2.0]
Gender: Male
Race: Human/clone [Highly augmented cyborg]
Affiliation: Hyperion Corporation

Action Skill:
Personal fast travel nexus.
[Allows continual short range teleportation and long range after calculation 'charging' time]
The exact science behind this piece of hardware is still under development and was, in fact, discovered by accident when a researcher in the wildlife preserve was exposed to slag moments before entering the fast travel to Helios. While she survived the trip, she soon suffocated to death in the vacuum of space after spontaneously teleporting outside the hull of the orbital moon base, mid conversation about her retirement plans.
After much time in research and failure to understand the reality and genetic distorting powers of slag and eredium, the prototype device was constructed. Currently there is only one in existence as all attempts to replicate the device have ended in glorious failure and horrific mutation, Hyperion swiftly abandoning the project until they can find some worthwhile researchers they care less about then normal.

History/notable features:
Lab grown from the cells of the mighty yet defeated Wilhelm, like his forebear his body is now far more machine then man, assuming the position of his now dead 'parent' as one of Hyperion's top badasses. However, with the introduction and integration of the personal fast travel nexus into his body, he is a much more capable rapid response unit to unexpected situations. Teleporting down to the surface and handling problems deemed worth his time.
Like the original, his body is alarmingly more receptive to mechanical augmentation then the common man. The urge to become more then man a near addiction, showing in the sheer extent of his body mods making up more of his body then his natural flesh.
While he could have been turned into the hulking menace that was the original Wilhelm, Hyperion decided on a different approach, and creating their own Vault Hunter.
Vault Hunter's already murder bandits left and right... just not the ones that really matter.
Something that can be easily remedied with Willhel-M 2.0.
